Smartlead vs Saleshandy Pricing: Plans, Sending Limits and Real Cost
Smartlead and Saleshandy price almost identically at the entry tier: $39 against $41, both for 6,000 emails and 2,000 contacts a month. The decision is made three lines further down the invoice, on annual discount, mailbox infrastructure and whitelabel. On annual Pro, Saleshandy gives more sends for less money; Smartlead gives a trial 25 times larger.

What actually separates Smartlead and Saleshandy
The entry tiers are a coin flip
Smartlead Base is $39 for 6,000 emails and 2,000 contacts. Saleshandy Starter is $41 for 6,000 emails and 2,000 active prospects. Same allowances, two dollars apart. If you are only ever going to send 6,000 emails a month, pick on the interface, because the price is not telling you anything.
Annual billing is where they split
Smartlead discounts annual by a near-flat 16.7 to 17.0 percent at every tier. Saleshandy discounts unevenly: 17.07 percent on Starter, 23.23 percent on Pro, 21.16 percent on Scale. Saleshandy Pro is the deepest annual discount either vendor offers, and it lands on the tier most teams buy.
Mailboxes cost more on Smartlead
Neither platform gives you mailboxes, and both resell them. Saleshandy charges $2.99 per mailbox a month on its Annual Fixed plan. Smartlead's fresh Google and Outlook mailboxes run $4.50. On 25 mailboxes that is a $37 a month gap before you have sent anything.
Whitelabel is billed on opposite principles
Smartlead charges $29 a month per client workspace, so the bill grows with every client you sign. Saleshandy folds whitelabel and unlimited seats into Scale at $149 a month annual, flat. For an agency past about five clients this single line dominates the comparison.
Smartlead's trial is the one you can actually test with
Smartlead gives 14 days, 2,500 sends and 1,250 contacts, no card, everything except whitelabel. Saleshandy gives 7 days and caps trial sending at 100 emails. One of those lets you run a real campaign and read real reply rates. The other does not.
Seats are documented on one side only
Saleshandy publishes seats explicitly: 1 on Starter, 10 on Pro, unlimited on Scale, never billed per user. Smartlead does not publish a per-seat charge on its pricing page. If team size is a live question, Saleshandy is the one that answers it in writing.
ColdMailer against Smartlead for cold outreach
Smartlead and Saleshandy solve the same problem: pushing volume through a rotating pool of mailboxes you rent from them. ColdMailer solves a narrower one. Here is the honest split, including where Smartlead is the better buy.
| Feature | ColdMailer | Smartlead |
|---|---|---|
| Entry price a month | $29 Starter, billed monthly | $39 Base, or $32.50 billed annually |
| What the price meters | Emails sent: 1,000, 5,000 or 25,000 a month | Emails sent, contacts stored and verified prospect emails |
| Top published tier | $149 Enterprise, 25,000 emails | $379 Prime, 500,000 emails |
| Where the mail goes out from | Your own SMTP inbox, authenticated by you | Mailboxes you rent through its partner providers |
| Mailbox cost on top | None. You already own the inbox | $4.50 a mailbox a month fresh, $9 pre-warmed, plus domains |
| Personalization model | A separate message written per recipient | Sequence templates with merge variables and spintax |
| Sending volume ceiling | 25,000 a month on the top plan | 500,000 a month on Prime |
| Inbox placement testing | Content spam check, free on every plan | SmartDelivery, billed separately from $49 a month |
| Whitelabel for agencies | Not offered | $29 a month per client workspace |
| Free trial | 25 personalized emails on a new account, no card | 14 days, 2,500 sends, no card |
| Who it suits | A team that owns its list and its mailboxes | A team scaling volume across many rented mailboxes |
Smartlead figures read from smartlead.ai/pricing and its help center on 16 September 2026. ColdMailer figures from our own pricing page.
Where these two sit against the rest of the shortlist
Entry price is the cheapest paid plan each vendor publishes in US dollars, read from the vendor's own pricing page. These tools meter different things, so read the meter column before the price column.
| Tool | Best for | What it meters | Entry price |
|---|---|---|---|
| ColdMailer | A message written per prospect, sent from your own SMTP | Emails sent, flat | $29 a month |
| Smartlead | Scaling volume across many rented mailboxes | Sends, contacts and verified emails | $39 a month |
| Saleshandy | Teams that need seats and built-in lead data | Sends, prospects, seats and credits | $41 a month |
| Instantly | High volume sending plus a contact database | Sends, contacts and credits | $47 a month |
| Snov.io | Finding and verifying addresses first | Credits and recipients | $39 a month |

How to pick between Smartlead and Saleshandy in four checks
Count your mailboxes first, not your emails
Multiply the mailboxes you plan to run by $2.99 for Saleshandy and $4.50 for Smartlead. At 25 mailboxes that is $74.75 against $112.50 a month. For most teams this line is larger than the difference between the two plans, and it is the line that never appears in a comparison article.
Decide monthly or annual before you compare prices
On monthly billing Smartlead Pro at $94 for 90,000 sends beats Saleshandy Pro at $99 for 100,000 on headline price but loses on cost per email. On annual it is not close: Saleshandy Pro is $76 for 100,000 sends against Smartlead's $78.30 for 90,000.
Count your client workspaces if you are an agency
Smartlead bills $29 a month per client workspace on top of the plan. Saleshandy includes whitelabel and unlimited seats in Scale. Twelve clients costs $348 a month extra on Smartlead and nothing extra on Saleshandy Scale. Past roughly five clients this decides it.
Use the trial that lets you send a real campaign
Saleshandy caps trial sending at 100 emails over 7 days, which tests the interface but not deliverability. Smartlead gives 2,500 sends over 14 days. Run one genuine four-step sequence to 600 prospects on Smartlead and you will have real reply data before you pay.
Smartlead vs Saleshandy pricing side by side
Smartlead runs $39, $94, $174 and $379 a month. Saleshandy runs $41, $99 and $189. At the entry and mid tiers the two are within six dollars of each other for near-identical allowances, so the sticker price does not decide anything. What decides it is annual billing, mailboxes and seats.
| Plan level | Smartlead | Saleshandy |
|---|---|---|
| Entry, monthly | $39 Base | $41 Starter |
| Entry, annual per month | $32.50 | $34 |
| Entry emails a month | 6,000 | 6,000 |
| Entry contacts or prospects | 2,000 | 2,000 |
| Mid, monthly | $94 Pro | $99 Pro |
| Mid, annual per month | $78.30 | $76 |
| Mid emails a month | 90,000 | 100,000 |
| Top published tier | $379 Prime | $189 Scale |
| Top emails a month | 500,000 | 200,000 |
Read the mid row twice. On monthly billing Smartlead Pro is five dollars cheaper. On annual billing Saleshandy Pro is cheaper and carries 10,000 more emails, because Saleshandy discounts that specific tier by 23.23 percent while Smartlead discounts everything by about 17 percent. Full tier detail for each sits on our Smartlead pricing breakdown and our Saleshandy pricing breakdown.
Which is cheaper per email, Smartlead or Saleshandy?
Saleshandy is cheaper per email at the mid tier and Smartlead is cheaper at the top. On annual billing Saleshandy Pro costs $0.76 per thousand emails against Smartlead Pro at $0.87, a 13 percent gap. Above 200,000 emails a month the comparison ends, because only Smartlead publishes a plan that large.
| Tier | Smartlead per 1,000 | Saleshandy per 1,000 |
|---|---|---|
| Entry, monthly | $6.50 | $6.83 |
| Entry, annual | $5.42 | $5.67 |
| Mid, monthly | $1.04 | $0.99 |
| Mid, annual | $0.87 | $0.76 |
| Top, monthly | $0.76 | $0.95 |
| Top, annual | $0.63 | $0.75 |
Every figure in that table is our arithmetic, dividing each published price by its published send allowance. One oddity worth knowing on the Smartlead side: Unlimited Smart at $174 for 150,000 sends works out to $1.16 per thousand, which is more per email than Pro at $1.04. Smart is priced on unlimited contacts and free verified emails, not on sending, so buying it purely for volume is a mistake.
What do mailboxes cost on each platform?
Both platforms include unlimited mailbox connections and neither includes the mailboxes. You buy those separately, and this is the largest hidden line in either bill. Saleshandy charges $2.99 per mailbox a month on Annual Fixed. Smartlead's fresh Google and Outlook mailboxes cost $4.50, and pre-warmed ones cost $9.
| Item | Smartlead | Saleshandy |
|---|---|---|
| Mailbox, cheapest published | $3.99 SMTP, $4.50 Google or Outlook | $2.99 Annual Fixed |
| Mailbox, pre-warmed | $9.00 | Not published separately |
| Domain | $13 to $19 a year | $14 a year, up to 5 mailboxes |
| 25 mailboxes plus domains | About $118 a month | About $81 a month |
That is roughly $37 a month, or $448 a year, on an identical setup. It is enough to reverse the plan comparison on its own. A Smartlead Pro account billed annually at $78.30 with 25 fresh mailboxes runs about $196 all in; Saleshandy Pro annual at $76 with the same 25 mailboxes runs about $157. If you already own warm mailboxes, both of those lines go to zero, which is the argument for sending through your own SMTP email sender instead.
Is Smartlead or Saleshandy better for agencies?
Saleshandy, for most agencies, because of how whitelabel is billed. Smartlead charges $29 a month per client workspace on top of the plan, so the bill scales with your client count. Saleshandy includes whitelabel, SSO and unlimited seats in Scale at $149 a month annual, flat regardless of how many clients you run.
| Clients | Smartlead Smart annual | Saleshandy Scale annual |
|---|---|---|
| 3 clients | $231.50 | $149 |
| 6 clients | $318.50 | $149 |
| 12 clients | $492.50 | $149 |
Our arithmetic: Smartlead Unlimited Smart at $144.50 annual plus $29 per client workspace, against Saleshandy Scale at $149 annual with whitelabel included. Smartlead still wins on raw send ceiling, and an agency pushing over 200,000 emails a month may have no choice. Below that volume the whitelabel line decides it, and it is not close past about five clients.
Which free trial is better, Smartlead or Saleshandy?
Smartlead's trial is substantially more useful. It runs 14 days with 2,500 email sends and 1,250 contacts, needs no credit card, and unlocks every paid feature except white labelling. Saleshandy's runs 7 days with no card but caps trial sending at 100 emails, which is enough to test the interface and not enough to test deliverability.
The difference matters more than it sounds. A cold email tool is bought on reply rate, and reply rate needs volume to measure. A four-step sequence to 600 prospects is 2,400 sends, which fits inside Smartlead's trial and is 24 times larger than Saleshandy's entire trial allowance. On Smartlead, warmup emails, replies and bounce notifications do not count against the limit, though follow-ups and bounced sends do. If you want to judge either tool on results rather than screenshots, trial Smartlead properly and trial Saleshandy for the interface.
What each one includes that the other does not
Past price, the feature split is genuine rather than cosmetic. Saleshandy publishes seat counts and folds lead data into every tier. Smartlead publishes a much higher volume ceiling and sells first-party inbox placement testing. Neither is a superset of the other.
| Capability | Smartlead | Saleshandy |
|---|---|---|
| Seats included | Not published per tier | 1, 10, unlimited |
| Lead database | Verified prospect emails, $59 add-on on lower tiers | Lead Finder credits on every tier |
| Sender rotation | Unlimited mailbox connections | Across 10, 100 or 1,000 accounts |
| Inbox placement testing | SmartDelivery, from $49 a month | Not a first-party product |
| Dedicated infrastructure | SmartServers, $39 a server a month | Not published |
| CRM integrations | Published on higher tiers | Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive, Zoho, Zapier on Pro |
| Published machine-readable prices | No | Yes, at saleshandy.com/pricing.md |
One credit detail is worth pulling out because it is unusually fair: Saleshandy charges 1 credit for a verified work email, 6 for a phone number and 7 for both, and charges nothing when a search returns no result. Most data vendors bill the lookup regardless. If either tool ends up being wrong for you, the closest alternatives are covered on our Smartlead alternative and Saleshandy alternative pages.
Where ColdMailer fits, and where it does not
ColdMailer is not a bigger Smartlead. It does one thing: it reads each prospect, writes a distinct message for that person, and sends it through the mailbox you already own. Plans are $29, $49 and $149 a month for 1,000, 5,000 and 25,000 emails, and a new account gets 25 personalized emails to try without a card.
Be clear about the trade. If you need to push 200,000 emails a month across 40 rented mailboxes, buy Smartlead and do not think about it twice. If you run twelve client accounts under your own brand, buy Saleshandy Scale. ColdMailer is the right call when your domain is already warm, the list is yours, and the thing holding back replies is that every prospect is getting the same template with their first name pasted into it. At that point you are not short of sending capacity, you are short of a reason for the person to reply, and a rented mailbox pool does not fix that. Before the first send, run the draft through our email deliverability checker.
Which buyer each one actually fits
Agency running many client accounts
Saleshandy Scale at $149 a month annual includes whitelabel and unlimited seats. The same setup on Smartlead means Unlimited Smart at $144.50 plus $29 per client workspace, which passes $400 a month at nine clients.
Team sending over 200,000 emails a month
Smartlead, without much argument. Prime carries 500,000 sends at $379 a month. Saleshandy tops out at 200,000 on Scale, with higher volumes available on request rather than published.
Small sales team that needs seats
Saleshandy. Pro at $99 a month covers 10 seats and is never billed per user, and Scale is unlimited. Smartlead does not publish a seat policy, which makes it a question you have to ask sales.
Team that needs lead data in the same tool
Saleshandy includes Lead Finder credits on every tier and charges nothing when a search returns no result. Smartlead sells verified prospect emails as a $59 a month add-on on Base and Pro, included free on Smart and Prime.
Team that already owns its mailboxes and list
Neither, and this is the honest answer. If your domain is warm, your list is yours and you want one message written per prospect rather than a template with variables, you are paying both vendors for a mailbox pool you do not need. That is the case ColdMailer is built for.
Smartlead vs Saleshandy FAQ
At the entry tier, barely: $39 against $41 for identical allowances of 6,000 emails and 2,000 contacts. At the mid tier on annual billing Saleshandy is cheaper and gives more, at $76 for 100,000 sends against $78.30 for 90,000. At the top tier Smartlead is cheaper per email and is the only one publishing a plan above 200,000 sends.
Smartlead costs $39 for Base, $94 for Pro, $174 for Unlimited Smart and $379 for Unlimited Prime, billed monthly. Annual billing takes about 17 percent off, bringing those to $32.50, $78.30, $144.50 and $314.60 a month. Mailboxes, verified prospect emails and whitelabel workspaces are billed separately.
Saleshandy costs $41 for Starter, $99 for Pro and $189 for Scale, billed monthly. On annual billing those become $34, $76 and $149 a month, billed as $408, $912 and $1,788 a year. Seats are included at 1, 10 and unlimited and are never billed per user.
Neither has a free plan. Both run a free trial with no credit card: Smartlead for 14 days with 2,500 sends and 1,250 contacts, Saleshandy for 7 days with trial sending capped at 100 emails. After the trial, a paid plan is the only way to keep sending on either.
Both rotate sends across multiple mailboxes and both include warmup on every plan, so the platform difference is small. Smartlead sells first-party inbox placement testing through SmartDelivery from $49 a month, which Saleshandy does not offer. In practice deliverability is decided by your domain authentication, list quality and send pace rather than by which of these two you pick.
No. Both include unlimited mailbox connections and both sell the mailboxes separately. Saleshandy charges $2.99 per mailbox a month on Annual Fixed with domains at $14 a year. Smartlead charges $3.99 to $4.50 for fresh mailboxes and $9 for pre-warmed ones, with domains at $13 to $19 a year.
Saleshandy, below about 200,000 emails a month. Its Scale plan at $149 a month annual includes whitelabel, SSO and unlimited seats at a flat rate. Smartlead charges $29 a month per client workspace on top of the plan, so twelve clients adds $348 a month. Above 200,000 sends, Smartlead is the only one of the two with a published plan that size.
Yes. Both are month to month with no long-term commitment on monthly billing, so the practical cost of switching is re-uploading prospects and rebuilding sequences. The part that does not move is your mailboxes: if you rented them through one vendor's partner providers, you are buying them again on the other side.
Emails are what you send each month and they reset. Contacts, or active prospects, are how many people you can store or have in flight. Smartlead Base allows 2,000 contacts and 6,000 sends; Saleshandy Starter allows 2,000 active prospects and 6,000 emails. Running out of contact room is the more common ceiling for teams working a steady list.
No. Saleshandy includes 1 seat on Starter, 10 on Pro and unlimited on Scale, and states that seats are never billed per user. Smartlead does not publish a per-seat charge on its pricing page, so if team size matters to your budget, Saleshandy is the one with the answer in writing.
It depends what you are paying for. If you need volume across rented mailboxes, no: that pool is what the money buys. If your domain is already warm and the list is yours, ColdMailer starts at $29 a month for 1,000 emails sent through your own SMTP, with a separate message written for each prospect and no mailbox rental on top.
Smartlead figures were read from smartlead.ai/pricing and its help center on 16 September 2026. Saleshandy figures came from saleshandy.com/pricing and the machine-readable saleshandy.com/pricing.md file on 15 September 2026. Every per-email and per-client figure is our own arithmetic from those published numbers, and is labelled as such where it appears.
