Mailmeteor is cheaper than GMass at every comparable tier. The cheapest plan with follow-ups is $17.99 a month on Mailmeteor Premium against $39.95 on GMass Premium, and inbox rotation costs $35.99 on Mailmeteor Professional against $59.95 on GMass Professional. GMass wins on volume: its plans are not capped by the tool, only by Gmail, and it can send through an SMTP service when Gmail's daily limit runs out.
Both tools send cold email from your own Gmail or Google Workspace account, so the comparison most buyers need is not features in the abstract. It is which plan you actually need to run a campaign with follow-ups, what that costs per user, and where each one stops scaling. Every figure below was read from gmass.co/pricing and mailmeteor.com/pricing in October 2026. Per-email costs and team totals are our arithmetic.
GMass vs Mailmeteor pricing, plan by plan
| Tier | GMass, per user a month | Mailmeteor, per user a month |
|---|---|---|
| Entry plan | Standard $29.95 ($249 a year) | Starter $5.99 ($53.99 a year) |
| First plan with follow-ups | Premium $39.95 ($349 a year) | Premium $17.99 ($161.99 a year) |
| First plan with inbox rotation | Professional $59.95 ($599 a year) | Professional $35.99 ($323.99 a year) |
| Annual discount | About 17% to 31%, paid as one yearly total | About 25%, sold as three months free |
The headline prices mislead in both directions. GMass Standard at $29.95 has no follow-up sequences, so it cannot run a cold campaign in the usual sense, and Mailmeteor Starter at $5.99 has no follow-ups either. For outbound, the real entry point is Premium on both, and there the gap is $21.96 a month per user, or $187.01 a year on annual billing. On annual, GMass Premium works out to $29.08 a month and Mailmeteor Premium to $13.50.
Is Mailmeteor cheaper than GMass?
Yes, at every matching feature level. Mailmeteor Premium is 55% cheaper than GMass Premium on monthly billing, and Mailmeteor Professional is 40% cheaper than GMass Professional. The trade is volume. Mailmeteor caps each plan by the tool (30,000 emails a month on Premium, 60,000 on Professional), while GMass sells every plan as unlimited and leaves the limit to Gmail and your sending setup.
| Volume limit | GMass | Mailmeteor |
|---|---|---|
| Emails a month set by the plan | Unlimited on every plan | 5,000 Starter, 30,000 Premium, 60,000 Professional |
| Emails a day set by the plan | None | 250 Starter, up to 1,000 Premium, up to 2,000 Professional |
| Google Workspace ceiling | 2,000 a day per user | 2,000 a day per user |
| Past Gmail's limit | SMTP sending, first 10,000 a month included then $5 per 10,000 | Stops at the provider limit |
In practice, one Google Workspace user can send about 44,000 emails over 22 business days before Google's own limit bites, so a single sender rarely outgrows Mailmeteor Professional's 60,000. Where GMass pulls ahead is the sender who wants to push past Gmail entirely through an SMTP service, or who runs several mailboxes from one seat with MultiSend rotation on Professional.
GMass vs Mailmeteor cost per email
If you send at the top of each plan, the per-email math looks like this. GMass has no plan cap, so we used the Workspace ceiling of roughly 44,000 emails a month as its realistic maximum for one user.
| Plan at full use | Monthly price | Cost per 1,000 emails |
|---|---|---|
| Mailmeteor Premium, 30,000 emails | $17.99 | $0.60 |
| Mailmeteor Professional, 60,000 emails | $35.99 | $0.60 |
| GMass Premium, about 44,000 emails | $39.95 | $0.91 |
| GMass Professional, about 44,000 emails | $59.95 | $1.36 |
Almost nobody sends cold email at those ceilings from one address, and you should not try. A healthy cold mailbox sends 30 to 50 messages a day. At 40 a day over 22 days, that is 880 emails a month per mailbox, and the cost per 1,000 rises to $20.44 on Mailmeteor Premium and $45.40 on GMass Premium. Which is why rotation across several mailboxes, not the plan cap, is the number that decides real cold email capacity.
GMass vs Mailmeteor for a team of five
| Five users | Monthly | Annual, per month |
|---|---|---|
| Mailmeteor Premium, 5 users | $89.95 | $67.50 |
| Mailmeteor Professional, 5 users | $179.95 | $135.00 |
| GMass team plan, 5 users, Professional features | $175.00 | $145.83 |
GMass sells teams in fixed blocks (5, 10, 25, 50 and 100 users) at the Professional feature level, starting at $175 a month, and annual team billing is exactly ten months for twelve. Mailmeteor prices each user separately, with each account keeping its own quota. If your team needs rotation, the two are within $5 a month of each other on monthly billing, and Mailmeteor is about $11 a month cheaper on annual. If the team only needs follow-ups, Mailmeteor Premium at $89.95 is roughly half the GMass bill.
Which is better for cold email, GMass or Mailmeteor?
GMass is the better buy for a cold emailer who needs volume beyond Gmail, long sequences and rotation across many mailboxes from one seat, and who will pay $59.95 for it. Mailmeteor is the better buy for a seller sending a few hundred personalized emails a day who wants follow-ups and warm-up at $17.99. Both are mail merge tools at heart: the personalization is the variables you put in your sheet.
| If you need | Pick | Plan and price |
|---|---|---|
| Follow-ups at the lowest price | Mailmeteor | Premium, $17.99 a user |
| Rotation at the lowest price | Mailmeteor | Professional, $35.99 a user |
| Sending past Gmail's daily limit | GMass | Any plan with SMTP, $5 per 10,000 after the first 10,000 |
| A five-person team with rotation | Either, within $5 a month | GMass team $175 or Mailmeteor $179.95 |
| Each first email written for its prospect | Neither | Look at a tool that writes per prospect |
Where ColdMailer fits against both
ColdMailer is not the cheapest option here, and we would rather say so up front. Starter is $49 a month for 1,000 emails from two inboxes, or $24.50 a month on annual billing, which costs more per email than either Gmail tool. What it does differently is the writing. Instead of a merge field, the AI reads each prospect and drafts a first email about them, which you edit or approve before it sends through your own SMTP inbox, Gmail and Workspace included. Follow-ups of up to five steps, rotation with a daily limit per inbox, warm-up and a shared reply inbox are on every plan, and Pro at $99 moves to 5,000 emails with unlimited inboxes.
The honest test: if your reply rate is fine and you need cheaper sending, stay on GMass or Mailmeteor. If your list is good but replies are flat because every email reads like a template, the writing is the problem, and that is what you would be paying us for. Compare the plans on our pricing page or try the cold email generator on one of your own prospects first. Also worth knowing: when a campaign sends prospects to your site, a chatbot that answers visitors on your website catches the ones who would rather ask a question there than reply by email.
Frequently asked questions
Is GMass better than Mailmeteor?
GMass is better for high-volume cold email, because it has no plan cap and can send through an SMTP service when Gmail's limit runs out. Mailmeteor is better on price, with follow-ups from $17.99 a month against $39.95 on GMass. For a single sender under Gmail's 2,000 a day, Mailmeteor does the same job for less.
Does Mailmeteor have follow-ups?
Yes, from the Premium plan at $17.99 per user a month ($13.50 on yearly billing). Premium includes up to five follow-ups, one email warm-up slot and up to five sender addresses. The free Hobby plan and the $5.99 Starter plan do not include follow-ups.
Does GMass Standard include sequences?
No. GMass Standard at $29.95 a month covers mail merge and tracking but not automated follow-up sequences. Sequences start on Premium at $39.95, and inbox rotation (MultiSend) on Professional at $59.95 or on any team plan.
Can GMass or Mailmeteor send more than Gmail's daily limit?
Mailmeteor cannot: it sends through your Gmail or Outlook account and stops at the provider's limit, 2,000 a day for a paid Workspace user and 500 for personal Gmail. GMass can route sending through an SMTP service instead, with the first 10,000 emails a month included and $5 per 10,000 after that.
