For one person sending from Gmail, GMass is cheaper: its $29.95 Standard plan runs follow-up sequences, and $249 a year brings it to $20.75 a month, against $29 or $25 for Mailshake Starter with its 1,500 sends a month. For a team of five, GMass's team plan is $175 a month and Mailshake Email Outreach is $245. Mailshake wins when you send from Outlook or need a dialer.
Both tools bill per person, which is why the gap widens with every rep you add. They are also built differently. GMass runs inside your Gmail account as an extension. Mailshake is a separate web app that connects Gmail or Outlook mailboxes and adds phone and data on its top plan.
We read GMass's prices from gmass.co/pricing in October 2026 and Mailshake's from mailshake.com/pricing and its help center in September 2026. Every yearly total, team total and crossover below is our arithmetic, not a figure either vendor publishes.
GMass vs Mailshake pricing plan by plan
| Plan | Monthly / annual per month | What it adds |
|---|---|---|
| GMass Standard | $29.95 / $20.75 per user | Unlimited contacts, sequences and follow-ups, verification, Spam Solver |
| GMass Premium | $39.95 / $29.08 per user | Inbox rotation (MultiSend), API and Zapier, A/B testing, triggered emails |
| GMass Professional | $59.95 / $49.92 per user | High-priority support |
| Mailshake Starter | $29 / $25 per user | 1 sending address, 1,500 sends a month |
| Mailshake Email Outreach | $49 / $45 per user | 2 addresses, unlimited sends, rotation, unified inbox, CRM sync |
| Mailshake Sales Engagement | $99 / $85 per user | 10 addresses, 2,500 Data Finder credits, 5 phone numbers, power dialer |
GMass bills its yearly plans at $249, $349 and $599, which works out to the per-month figures above (its page rounds them down to $20, $29 and $49). Mailshake also sells an Agency plan by quote, so it sits outside the arithmetic. One thing jumps out: GMass Professional costs $20 more than Premium and adds only priority support. For most buyers Premium is the plan to compare.
Is GMass cheaper than Mailshake?
Yes, at almost every point. For one sender who needs inbox rotation, GMass Premium is $39.95 a month against $49 for Mailshake Email Outreach, and $29.08 against $45 on yearly billing. The only plan where Mailshake is cheaper is Starter on monthly billing, by 95 cents, with a 1,500 send cap GMass does not have.
| What you need, one sender | GMass | Mailshake |
|---|---|---|
| Sequences, billed monthly | $29.95 Standard | $29 Starter, 1,500 sends |
| Sequences, billed yearly | $20.75 Standard | $25 Starter |
| Rotation across mailboxes, monthly | $39.95 Premium | $49 Email Outreach |
| Rotation across mailboxes, yearly | $29.08 Premium | $45 Email Outreach |
| Over a year, rotation | $349 | $540 |
Over twelve months a single sender with rotation pays $191 less on GMass. The send figures deserve a caution. GMass lists unlimited emails, but it sends through your Google account, so Gmail's own daily sending limits still apply unless you connect an SMTP service. Mailshake's unlimited sends also run through the mailboxes you connect, so in both cases your real ceiling is how much each inbox can safely send.
GMass vs Mailshake for a team of five or ten
GMass sells team plans with every feature included: $175 a month for five users and $295 for ten. Mailshake Email Outreach for the same teams costs $245 and $490. At ten users GMass is $195 a month cheaper on monthly billing and $204 cheaper on yearly billing.
| Users | GMass team plan, monthly / yearly per month | Mailshake Email Outreach, monthly / yearly per month |
|---|---|---|
| 5 | $175 / $145.83 | $245 / $225 |
| 10 | $295 / $245.83 | $490 / $450 |
| 25 | $725 / $604.17 | $1,225 / $1,125 |
GMass's team plans are billed at $1,750, $2,950 and $7,250 a year for 5, 10 and 25 users. A detail worth knowing: five separate Premium licenses would cost $199.75 a month, so a five-person team should buy the team plan rather than individual seats. Mailshake has no team discount on its published plans, so its bill grows by exactly $49 per added rep.
If the team also calls prospects, compare Mailshake Sales Engagement at $99 a user ($495 for five) instead. It includes the power dialer and phone numbers, which GMass does not sell. Some teams only need a shared number to return calls from interested replies, and a cloud phone system for business covers that for far less than five dialer seats.
Which is better for cold email, GMass or Mailshake?
GMass is better for Gmail users who want the lowest price and are happy working inside their inbox. Mailshake is better for teams on Outlook, teams that want a separate app with a unified inbox and CRM sync, and teams that will use the dialer and Data Finder on Sales Engagement.
| Point | GMass | Mailshake |
|---|---|---|
| Where it runs | Inside Gmail, Google accounts only | Web app, Gmail and Outlook |
| Lead data | Not listed on its pricing page | Data Finder add-on, $19 a month |
| Calls | Not offered | Power dialer on Sales Engagement |
| Extra mailboxes | Your own Google accounts | $12 a month per domain with five mailboxes, or your own |
| Trial | Check current terms on gmass.co | No free trial, payment up front |
Mailshake's help center says plans are paid up front and not refunded, so a buyer who wants to test first should do it on the smallest plan. Our Mailshake pricing breakdown covers the mailbox add-on and the conflicting mailbox allowances on its plan cards, and our GMass pricing guide covers every team tier.
What both tools leave to you
GMass and Mailshake both send the email you write. They merge in a first name, a company and a custom line, and Mailshake adds an AI writer for the copy, but the message itself is still a template you send to a list. That is fine for volume. It is weaker when you write to a few hundred accounts a month and every reply matters.
That is the job ColdMailer does differently. It writes a separate first email for each prospect from their company and role, you edit and approve it, and it sends through your own SMTP inbox, Gmail, Outlook or any other provider. Plans are $49 a month for 1,000 emails, $99 for 5,000 and $249 for 25,000, or half that on yearly billing, with no per-seat charge. Follow-ups up to five steps, inbox rotation, warm-up and a shared reply inbox are on every plan. Follow-ups count as emails, so 1,000 emails on a three-step sequence reach about 330 prospects.
On price per email, GMass and Mailshake are cheaper, and if volume is your goal they are the better buy. If your templates have stopped getting replies, compare ColdMailer's plans or read our Mailshake alternatives and GMass alternatives roundups. If you are also weighing a cheaper Gmail tool, our GMass vs Mailmeteor pricing comparison runs the same arithmetic.
GMass vs Mailshake pricing questions
Does GMass work with Outlook?
No. GMass is a Chrome extension that works inside Gmail and Google Workspace accounts. A team that sends from Microsoft 365 or Outlook needs a separate app such as Mailshake, which connects both Gmail and Outlook mailboxes, or a tool that sends over SMTP from any provider.
Does Mailshake have a free trial?
No. Mailshake's help center says there is no free trial, plans are paid up front and payments are not refunded. The cheapest way to test it is Starter at $29 a month for one sending address and 1,500 sends.
Is GMass per user?
Yes. Individual GMass plans cover one Google account each. Teams can buy a team plan instead, at $175 a month for five users up to $2,200 for 100, which works out cheaper per person than individual Premium licenses.
Which GMass plan has inbox rotation?
Premium and Professional include Inbox Rotation (MultiSend), along with the API, A/B testing and triggered emails. Standard runs sequences and follow-ups but sends from one account. Professional adds only high-priority support on top of Premium.
