Yesware is cheaper than Mixmax on every like-for-like plan. Tracking alone costs $15 a seat on Yesware against $29 on Mixmax (annual billing), and campaigns cost $35 a seat on Yesware Premium against $49 on Mixmax Engagement Copilot, with no monthly recipient cap on the Yesware side. Mixmax wins when you want Salesforce sync without paying for a top tier, and on sequence rules, meeting tools and in-email extras.
Both tools live inside the rep's inbox and both bill per seat, so the comparison is cleaner than most. The bill is seats times plan price, plus add-ons. What changes the answer is which of three jobs you are buying for: tracking, campaigns, or Salesforce.
We read Yesware's prices from yesware.com/pricing and Mixmax's from mixmax.com/pricing in September 2026. Every team total, discount percentage and crossover below is our arithmetic, not a figure either vendor publishes.
Yesware vs Mixmax pricing, plan against plan
The two lineups map onto each other almost tier for tier. Prices are per seat a month, annual billing first, monthly second.
| Job | Yesware | Mixmax |
|---|---|---|
| Free tier | Free, $0, 10 campaign recipients a month | Free, $0, 20 tracked emails and 50 sequence recipients, reached only after the trial |
| Tracking and inbox tools | Pro, $15 / $19, 20 campaign recipients | Inbox Copilot, $29 / $34, 100 sequence recipients |
| Campaigns and sequences | Premium, $35 / $45, unlimited campaign recipients | Engagement Copilot, $49 / $65, 1,500 sequence recipients |
| Full Salesforce sync | Enterprise, $65 / $85 | Mixmax Suite, $89 / $105 |
| Larger teams | Enterprise covers it | Mixmax for Teams, 5+ users, quote only |
At every tier Yesware's list price is lower, by $14 a seat on the tracking and campaign plans and $24 on the Salesforce plan (annual billing). The gap widens on monthly billing, where Yesware Premium is $45 and Mixmax Engagement is $65.
Which is cheaper for a sales team?
For a five person team running campaigns, Yesware Premium costs $175 a month on annual billing and Mixmax Engagement Copilot costs $245. That is $840 a year in Yesware's favor, and $1,200 a year on monthly billing ($225 against $325).
| Seats | Yesware Premium, annual / monthly | Mixmax Engagement, annual / monthly |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | $35 / $45 | $49 / $65 |
| 3 | $105 / $135 | $147 / $195 |
| 5 | $175 / $225 | $245 / $325 |
| 10 | $350 / $450 | $490 / $650 |
Neither vendor discounts for volume of seats on its public page, so the gap scales in a straight line. Ten reps on campaigns is $1,680 a year more on Mixmax with annual billing.
The recipient caps change the math for high-volume reps
Mixmax counts sequence recipients: one person enrolled in a month, with every follow-up to that person included. Engagement Copilot covers 1,500 a month per user. A rep who needs more buys a block: +1,500 for $19, +5,000 for $39 or +15,000 for $59 a month on annual billing.
Yesware Premium lists campaign recipients as unlimited. So a rep enrolling 5,000 new people a month pays $35 on Yesware and $88 on Mixmax ($49 plus the $39 block). In practice both tools send from the rep's own Gmail or Outlook mailbox, which means the mailbox provider's daily sending limit is the real ceiling long before either vendor's cap. "Unlimited" on Yesware means Yesware will not stop you, not that the mailbox can take it.
Going the other way, Pro and Inbox Copilot are tracking plans. Yesware Pro allows 20 campaign recipients a month and Inbox Copilot 100, so neither is a campaign plan. If a rep will run sequences at all, price Premium or Engagement from the start.
The annual discounts are not the same shape
Yesware's annual discount rises gently with the tier: 21.1% on Pro, 22.2% on Premium, 23.5% on Enterprise. Mixmax's is lumpy: 14.7% on Inbox Copilot, 24.6% on Engagement Copilot and 15.2% on Suite.
| Plan pair | Yesware saved per seat a year | Mixmax saved per seat a year |
|---|---|---|
| Tracking | $48 (Pro) | $60 (Inbox Copilot) |
| Campaigns | $120 (Premium) | $192 (Engagement Copilot) |
| Salesforce | $240 (Enterprise) | $192 (Suite) |
So annual billing narrows the campaign-tier gap (from $20 to $14 a seat) but does not close it. One more thing before you pay a year up front: Yesware's pricing FAQ says it gives no refunds for the unused remainder of a term if you cancel. Both tools offer a 14-day trial; Mixmax's is the full Suite with no card.
Where Mixmax is worth the extra money
Mixmax costs more because it does more inside the email and around the sequence. If your team uses those extras every day, the $14 a seat is easy to justify.
Salesforce is the clearest case. Mixmax lists Salesforce sync, with activity sync limits, on Inbox and Engagement Copilot, and full sync on Suite. Yesware keeps all its Salesforce features on Enterprise. So a team that needs basic Salesforce logging plus sequences pays $49 a seat on Mixmax Engagement against $65 on Yesware Enterprise. That is the one comparison where Mixmax is cheaper, and for Salesforce shops it is often the deciding one.
Mixmax also carries more in the sequence itself: an AI sequence builder, a LinkedIn extension, delegated sending, rules, and on Suite, meeting recording, summaries and round robin scheduling. Mixmax's own comparison page argues its sequences are more customizable and its templates can carry polls, scheduling blocks and video. Those are its claims, but the feature lists on both pricing pages bear out the general point: Mixmax gates less behind the top tier.
Where Yesware is the better buy
Outlook is the first one. Yesware ships an Outlook add-on alongside its Gmail extension, while Mixmax is built for Gmail. If any of your reps work in Outlook, that usually settles it before price does.
The second is teams that mostly track. A rep who writes one-to-one emails and wants to know when a prospect opens a proposal or forwards a deck gets that on Yesware Pro for $15, about half of Mixmax Inbox Copilot. Yesware's attachment tracking and presentation reports are built for exactly that moment, the stretch between sending a proposal and sending the contract, which usually moves into contract management software once the buyer says yes.
The third is lead data. Yesware sells a Prospector add-on from what it calls a 100+ million contact database: 600 credits a year for $450 or 3,000 for $1,500 on annual billing, $0.75 and $0.50 a credit. Our Yesware pricing page covers the credit tiers and the discrepancies on Yesware's own page.
Which one should you buy?
| Your situation | Cheaper fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Reps only need open and attachment tracking | Yesware Pro | $15 against $29 a seat |
| Reps run campaigns, no Salesforce | Yesware Premium | $35 against $49, no recipient cap |
| Reps run sequences and log to Salesforce | Mixmax Engagement | $49 with limited sync against $65 on Yesware Enterprise |
| Full Salesforce sync for every rep | Yesware Enterprise | $65 against $89 on Suite |
| Anyone on Outlook | Yesware | Outlook add-on |
| Meeting recording and round robin | Mixmax Suite | Included at $89 |
Both are engagement layers for reps who write their own emails. If the actual problem is the first email itself, a separate researched message for each of a few thousand prospects a month, neither is built for that. ColdMailer reads each prospect on your list, writes one message for that person, and sends it through SMTP inboxes you connect after you approve it, with no per-seat charge: Pro is $99 a month for 5,000 emails, or $49.50 a month on annual billing. It has no tracking, meeting tools or Salesforce sync, so some teams run it for first touches and keep Yesware or Mixmax for live deals. The full plan tables are on our Mixmax pricing page and in the wider cold email software pricing comparison; if you are weighing a dialer as well, see Mailshake pricing.
