Woodpecker vs Instantly

Woodpecker vs Instantly Pricing, Per Prospect vs Per Email Cost

Woodpecker is cheaper for small teams and Instantly is cheaper at volume. Woodpecker bills by new prospects contacted each month, from $35 for 500. Instantly bills by plan, from $47 for 5,000 emails and 1,000 stored contacts. The monthly bills meet at about 4,000 new prospects a month, $99 against $97, and above that Instantly pulls far ahead.

Woodpecker figures read from woodpecker.co/pricing.md, the machine-readable price sheet behind its slider; Instantly figures from instantly.ai/pricing and its help center, September 2026. Totals and crossover points are our arithmetic.

Features

The six differences that decide Woodpecker vs Instantly

What the meter counts

Woodpecker counts every new prospect you contact in a month, once per campaign. Instantly counts emails sent and contacts uploaded. A long sequence costs nothing extra on Woodpecker; a big list costs nothing extra per email on Instantly.

The contact cap that does not refill

Instantly's contact allowance, 1,000 on Growth and 25,000 on Hyper Growth, is a cap across all campaigns, not a monthly refill. Woodpecker's prospect count resets on your billing date.

Sends per prospect

Woodpecker allows 16 emails a month per contacted prospect, so its send limit almost never binds. At 500 prospects that is 8,000 emails, more than Instantly Growth's 5,000.

Annual billing

A Woodpecker year costs 8 months: $280 against $420 at the entry tier. Instantly takes 20% off, $37.60 a month on Growth. Paying yearly widens Woodpecker's lead below 4,000 prospects.

Warm-up allowance

Instantly warms unlimited mailboxes on every plan. Woodpecker includes 2 warm-ups at 500 prospects, 6 at 2,000, 10 at 4,000 and 20 at 10,000, then charges $5 a month for each extra mailbox.

Lead data in the plan

Woodpecker includes 100 to 350 Lead Finder credits on its smaller tiers and sells packs from $10 for 500. Instantly sells lead credits as a separate subscription, $47 a month for 1,500 on its Growth credit plan.

Comparison

ColdMailer next to Woodpecker and Instantly

This table shows the differences, including where both tools do more than we do. Woodpecker and Instantly are built around high volume sequences; ColdMailer is built around one written message per prospect, sent from the inbox you already use.

Feature ColdMailer Woodpecker & Instantly
Entry price, billed monthly $49 Starter, 1,000 emails $35 Woodpecker for 500 prospects, $47 Instantly Growth for 5,000 emails
What you are billed on Emails sent each month Woodpecker: new prospects contacted. Instantly: emails sent plus stored contacts
Annual billing 50% off: $24.50 a month on Starter, $49.50 on Pro Woodpecker about 33% off, Instantly 20% off
Sending inboxes 2 on Starter, unlimited on Pro and Enterprise Unlimited on both
How each email is written AI writes a separate message for every prospect, and you can edit any of them before it sends Templates with variables and spintax; Woodpecker adds an AI email writer
Volume at the top plan 25,000 emails a month on Enterprise, $249 Instantly 500,000 on Light Speed, $358; Woodpecker up to unlimited at $9,999
LinkedIn steps Email only Woodpecker sells LinkedIn automation at $29 per account; Instantly is email first
Team seats Your account, your inboxes Unlimited team members on both, never billed per seat

Where Woodpecker or Instantly do more, the table says so. Both are cheaper than us per email once you send tens of thousands a month. The honest reason to pick ColdMailer is a message written for each prospect rather than a template with a first name swapped in.

How it works

How to choose between Woodpecker and Instantly in four steps

Step 01

Count new prospects, not emails

Write down how many new people you will contact each month and how many steps your sequence has. Woodpecker prices the first number; Instantly prices the second and caps how many contacts you keep.

Step 02

Count your mailboxes

At about 30 cold emails a day per mailbox, 12,000 emails a month needs roughly 18 mailboxes. Every one past Woodpecker's included warm-ups adds $5 a month.

Step 03

Pick the billing term

If you will commit for a year, compare Woodpecker's 33% discount against Instantly's 20%. At 4,000 prospects the monthly bills are a $2 tie, but annual billing gives Woodpecker an $11.60 a month lead.

Step 04

Add what you will actually buy

LinkedIn on Woodpecker is $29 an account, its API and integrations $20 a month. Lead data on Instantly is a second subscription. Mailboxes and domains are a separate bill on both.

Woodpecker vs Instantly, which one costs less?

Woodpecker costs less below about 4,000 new prospects a month and Instantly costs less above it. At 500 prospects Woodpecker is $35 against Instantly's $47. At 4,000 they are $99 against $97. At 100,000 Woodpecker is $1,354 and Instantly Light Speed is $358.

The reason is the meter. Woodpecker prices one thing, the number of new people your campaigns reach in a month, and gives you 16 emails per prospect on top. Its price per 100 prospects falls from $7.00 at the entry tier to $1.88 at 10,000 and about $1.03 at a million, a volume discount, but a slow one. Instantly prices plans in steps: $47 for 5,000 emails, then $97 for 125,000, then $358 for 500,000. Inside a step, every extra email is free.

So a small team with a careful, long sequence pays for very little on Woodpecker, and a team that sends to a big list every month hits Instantly's $97 plan and stays there for a long time. The figures on this page assume a three email sequence; with longer sequences Woodpecker looks better, because its meter ignores how many steps you run.

Light Speed, 100,000 contacts, 500,000 emails$358$286.30

Woodpecker publishes 22 tiers from 500 to 1,000,000 prospects plus a flat Unlimited plan; the six above are the ones most teams land on. Its annual prices are exactly 8 times the monthly figure, a third off. Instantly also sells an $87 a month Email Outreach add-on that adds 25,000 contacts and 125,000 emails to a plan.

One detail in Woodpecker's own sheet is worth knowing if you are that big: the 1,000,000 prospect tier costs $10,312 a month, and the Unlimited plan costs $9,999. Past 800,000 prospects, Unlimited is the cheaper buy, although Woodpecker switches off its verification and Lead Finder add-ons on it. The full slider is broken down on our Woodpecker alternative page, and every Instantly tier and credit plan is on our Instantly pricing page.

What Woodpecker vs Instantly costs at six volumes

Each row assumes a three email sequence, monthly billing first and annual in brackets. Mailboxes and domains are left out because both tools make you bring or buy them separately.

New prospects a monthWoodpeckerInstantly
500 (1,500 emails)$35 ($23.33)$47 Growth ($37.60)
2,000 (6,000 emails)$67 ($44.67)$97 Hyper Growth ($77.60)
4,000 (12,000 emails)$99 ($66.00)$97 Hyper Growth ($77.60)
10,000 (30,000 emails)$188 ($125.33)$97 Hyper Growth ($77.60)
25,000 (75,000 emails)$395 ($263.33)$184, Hyper Growth plus one add-on
100,000 (300,000 emails)$1,354 ($902.67)$358 Light Speed ($286.30)

The 25,000 row is where Instantly's contact cap matters. Hyper Growth holds 25,000 contacts across all campaigns, so a team adding 25,000 new people every month fills it in one month. We priced it with one $87 add-on, which doubles the cap to 50,000; how quickly you need more depends on how Instantly counts finished campaigns on your account, so confirm that with them before you plan a year around it.

On annual billing Woodpecker keeps a clear lead at 4,000 prospects, $66.00 against $77.60. It has no tier between 4,000 and 8,000, though, so a team at 4,500 prospects pays the 8,000 price, $106.00 a month billed yearly, and Instantly wins from there.

Is Woodpecker cheaper than Instantly?

Woodpecker is cheaper than Instantly for teams contacting up to about 4,000 new prospects a month. At exactly 4,000 the monthly bills are a $2 tie, $99 against $97, while on annual billing Woodpecker still wins, $66 against $77.60. Above 4,000 Instantly is cheaper, and the gap grows fast: $91 a month at 10,000 prospects and $996 a month at 100,000.

There is one case where Woodpecker is cheaper than it looks and one where it is dearer. It is cheaper when your sequences are long, because a seven step sequence to 2,000 prospects is 14,000 emails and still costs $67 on Woodpecker, while Instantly needs Hyper Growth. It is dearer when you run many mailboxes, because warm-up is only partly included.

The warm-up and mailbox bill neither sticker shows

Neither tool sends from its own servers. You connect Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 or SMTP mailboxes, and at a safe pace of around 30 cold emails a day each, volume comes from mailbox count. That is our working assumption, not a vendor rule.

Monthly emailsMailboxes neededWoodpecker warm-up extra
1,500about 31 x $5 over the 2 included
6,000about 93 x $5 over the 6 included
12,000about 188 x $5 over the 10 included
30,000about 4525 x $5 over the 20 included

Instantly warms every connected mailbox on every plan, so the right hand column is zero there. At 12,000 emails the extra warm-ups turn Woodpecker's $99 into $139, which is why the 4,000 prospect team in our setups lands on Instantly. The mailboxes themselves cost the same either way: about $7 a month each for a Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 Basic seat, or $4 to $6 each if you buy them through Woodpecker. Our cold email infrastructure guide works through domains and mailbox counts in more detail.

Does Woodpecker or Instantly have a free trial?

Both do, and neither asks for a card. Woodpecker's trial lasts 14 days or 100 sent emails, whichever comes first, with every feature switched on, and you keep access to the account afterwards. Instantly's trial allows 250 contacts and 1,000 emails. Neither trial is big enough to test deliverability at real volume, so use it to check the workflow and the reporting, not your reply rate.

Woodpecker vs Instantly vs ColdMailer, honestly

If you need to send tens of thousands of template emails a month, both Woodpecker and Instantly will do it for less per email than we will. Our Enterprise plan is $249 for 25,000 emails; Instantly Hyper Growth is $97 for 125,000.

ColdMailer is built for a different job. You connect the inbox you already send from, import your prospect list, and the AI writes a separate message for each person based on what you give it about them. You read and edit any message, send, and see the delivery result for each prospect. Starter is $49 a month for 1,000 emails, Pro $99 for 5,000, and a year costs six months. A new account gets 25 free emails to try, no card required.

The teams that pick us over either tool are the ones sending a few hundred to a few thousand emails a month to accounts that are worth a real first line, where one written message beats three templated ones. If that is you, try it on your own list first. If you are comparing more vendors, our cold email software pricing table puts ten of them side by side.

Use cases

What Woodpecker vs Instantly costs at five setups

A founder contacting 500 new prospects a month

3

Woodpecker $1,354 before the $27 per client Agency Panel. Instantly Light Speed $358 for 500,000 emails and 100,000 contacts. Instantly wins by almost $1,000 a month.

FAQ

Woodpecker vs Instantly FAQ

Woodpecker is better for small teams that contact a few thousand new prospects a month with long sequences, because it bills only on new prospects and never per email. Instantly is better for high volume, because $97 buys 125,000 emails and unlimited warm-up. On features they overlap heavily; the meter is the real difference.

Woodpecker starts at $35 a month for 500 contacted prospects and 8,000 emails, or $280 a year. It rises to $67 for 2,000 prospects, $99 for 4,000, $188 for 10,000 and $1,354 for 100,000. LinkedIn, API access, extra warm-ups and mailboxes are add-ons.

Instantly's outreach plans are Growth at $47 a month (1,000 contacts, 5,000 emails), Hyper Growth at $97 (25,000 contacts, 125,000 emails) and Light Speed at $358 (100,000 contacts, 500,000 emails). Annual billing takes 20% off: $37.60, $77.60 and $286.30 a month.

No. Woodpecker includes unlimited team members and unlimited email accounts on every plan. So does Instantly. Neither tool bills per seat, which makes both cheaper than per user tools like lemlist Multichannel for a team of three or more.

Every person you contact in a month counts once per campaign. Follow-ups to the same person inside one campaign do not count again, but the same person added to two campaigns counts twice. When you hit the limit, campaigns stop sending to new prospects until you upgrade or the month renews.

Yes. Growth holds 1,000 contacts, Hyper Growth 25,000 and Light Speed 100,000, and the limit applies across all your campaigns rather than refilling each month. An $87 a month add-on adds 25,000 contacts and 125,000 emails.

For most agencies Instantly is cheaper, because client volume adds up fast and Instantly's price per email falls much faster than Woodpecker's price per prospect. Woodpecker's Agency Panel adds $27 a month per active client and $5 per client for white label, on top of the prospect tier.

At high volume, not by much: Smartlead and Saleshandy are the usual shortlist. At low volume, the cheapest option depends on how you write. If you want each email written for its reader rather than a template, ColdMailer starts at $49 a month, or $24.50 a month billed yearly, and a new account gets 25 free emails to try.

Want one written email per prospect instead of a template?

ColdMailer writes a separate message for each person on the list you already have and sends it from the inbox you already use. Read and edit every one before it goes.
